A 5-ingredient sheet pan salmon with a 5-minute prep??
Sign. Me. Up.
As the weather warms up, I spend as much time outside as possible. I realize that many of you live in areas of the world where it’s just too hot or too humid to stay outdoors for hours, but not me.
The highest summer temp we’ve had at our house in 5 years? 87 degrees. 🙂
I LIVE for summer!
From June to September, you’ll find me puttering around my garden, hiking, making flower essences, mowing on my riding lawn mower, sipping cold herbal tea on the porch, swimming in wild waters, laying on a blanket in the sun, and petting moss.
Dreamy, right?
The very last thing I want to do is stop doing those things to go inside to make a meal. Being outside is where all the fun is.
So, I’m always coming up with meal shortcuts. What is the least amount of work I can do in the kitchen and still nourish myself and my family?
Hello, 5-minute prep Sheet Pan Salmon!
Whole30, Paleo, & Keto Sheet Pan Salmon
This Sheet Pan Salmon won’t be winning any awards for freezer cooking (ie. do not try to prep a bunch of this and freeze it for later, please).
But, it DOES check all the boxes for a super easy, super fast and healthy Whole30, paleo, and/or keto main dish.
I don’t recommend prepping this Whole30 Sheet Pan Salmon ahead of time; it’s best prepped and served fresh. However, you can prep side dishes — like a salad, roasted veggies or sweet potatoes, or cauli-rice — ahead and save even more time.
When you can’t procrastinate heading indoors to make dinner any longer, simply head inside and have this salmon in the oven in 5 minutes and re-heat a pre-prepped side dish.
Easy-peasy!
How to Make Whole30, Paleo, & Keto Sheet Pan Salmon with Garlic & Rosemary
To make this easy Whole30 Sheet Pan Salmon, you need just 5 ingredients:
- wild-caught salmon filets; I prefer sockeye, but coho or other salmon will work too. (please only wild-caught salmon, see below)
- fresh rosemary
- fresh garlic
- extra virgin olive oil (<– save 10% on my favorite EVOO with my discount code NOURISHING)
- salt
Yep, that’s really it.
Preheat your oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the salmon filets on the baking sheet and sprinkle generously with salt.
In a small bowl, whisk together the EVOO, chopped rosemary, and minced garlic. Next, divide that mixture over each salmon filet and bake!
This Sheet Pan Salmon takes just 10 to 12 minutes, so don’t go far! That gives you just enough time to make a salad or heat up a side dish.
Ingredient Subs & Recipes FAQs
Should I use fresh or frozen salmon?
Either is fine! To me, it’s more important to source wild-caught salmon. If the only wild-caught salmon you can get your hands on is frozen, great! Make sure to thaw frozen salmon in your fridge before making Sheet Pan Salmon.
Can I use dried rosemary?
Normally, I’d say to sub dried herbs for fresh, but not here. The taste just won’t be the same. Fresh rosemary pops in a way that dried never will. Fresh rosemary is very easy to find in supermarkets and even Walmart!
What can I use instead of EVOO?
Avocado oil or ghee will work. I wouldn’t use coconut oil, however.
I’ve heard that most olive oil isn’t real? Is this true? And what olive oil do you recommend?
You’ve heard correctly! Most commercial and store-bought olive oil is not 100% pure and is adulterated with cheaper vegetable oils, like canola or soybean oil. Is your olive oil fake? Learn more here!
It is very important to choose a high quality olive oil from a trusted source. Here are my favorite olive oil sources:
- Wildly Organic’s Olive Oil <– Save 10% with my discount code NOURISHING!
- Chaffin Family Orchard — a small family farm in California
- California Olive Ranch First Cold-Pressed Olive Oil
