6 Seasonal Essential Oil Diffuser Blends
I love a nicely smelling house. When I walk through my door, I want to be greeted with fresh, clean-smelling air and the slightest hint of natural scent.
Candles and wax warmers, unfortunately, may smell fresh and clean, but they’re not actually making my home’s air clean.
From my post 5 Sources Of Indoor Air Pollution You Can Fix TODAY:
Paraffin wax, the main ingredient in candles and scented wax, releases two very dangerous chemicals when heated: tolulene and benzene gasses. Additionally, the materials used to make candle wicks commonly contain lead. After just a few hours of burning, there can be levels of lead in the air that exceed acceptable levels. (Source.)
I’ll admit, some of those candle scents sure are yummy. After all, who wouldn’t want their house to smell like a freshly baked blueberry muffin or a mug of hot apple cider or a vanilla sugar cookie??
Well, me, actually.
The Power Of Chemical Smells
I’ve realized that I’m very sensitive to smells, especially of the chemical kind — this includes aerosol sprays and scented candles.
We had an old candle sitting on a coffee table in our basement. I never burned it, so I’m not sure why I left it there so long. I noticed that my nose was itchy, I felt the urge to sneeze, and I was overcome with feeling very annoyed and jittery when I sat on the couch by that table to read to the peeps.
When I concluded it was the candle, I promptly disposed of it — and bam! the urge to sneeze, the itchy nose, and the annoyed, jittery feelings never came back.
Essential Oils Instead
I’ve been using essential oils and diffusers to scent my home the natural way. I don’t miss the candles and wax warmers at all!
I love knowing that the oils not only make my air smell fresh and clean — they actually freshen and clean the air itself!
This is excellent for boosting the immune system — eradicating airborne microbes before they have the chance to cause illness.
Yes! When a diffuser disperses EOs into the air, the microscopic oils trap and eradicate bacteria or viruses, mold spores, and other impurities in the air!
However, if it’s just a smelly good house you’re after, EOs smell amazing, naturally!
Here are 6 essential oil diffuser blends to delight your olfactory sense with the smells of each season!
Seasonal Essential Oil Diffuser Blends
If the candle companies can come out with fake pumpkin spice for Fall, fake winter pine for Winter, fake fresh rain for Spring, and fake ocean breeze for summer, there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy seasonal scents with essential oil diffusing blends.
By keeping several oils on hand, you can customize a blend for your house that you love.
By using EOs to scent your home, you can enjoy the benefits of clean air AND craft seasonal smells!
