Salted Caramel, Chocolate, & Pecan Shake {with 4 nourishing add-ins!}
Newsflash: It may be Fall… but that does not mean it’s suddenly cold outside.
In fact, northern Minnesota rang in the Fall Equinox at a hot and humid 78 degrees.
And, I can promise you… the very last thing I wanted to drink was a hot pumpkin spice latte.
So, what’s a girl to do? When she wants Fall flavors but not a hot drink?
Let’s take the “hot” out of the equation, shall we? This Salted Caramel, Chocolate, and Pecan Shake is the answer! It’s the Fall flavors we love and crave — without being heated up!
The 4 Nourishing Add-Ins
With four nourishing add-ins, you can feel nothing but good about this healthy, Fall-inspired shake!
While these add-ins are totally optional, they’re highly recommended to take your shake to the next level.
Here’s what they are and why they’re so fantastic:
#1 — Grass-Fed Collagen Hydrolysate
Did you know that water is the only thing our bodies have more of than collagen? It’s true! Tendons, ligaments, bones, skin, muscles, and cartilage all contain collagen!
Collagen hydrolysate, like all proteins, is made up of amino acids but is especially rich in 3 key amino acids: glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. And, these amino acids are particularly awesome for:
- gut health
- younger looking skin
- supporting joint health
- supporting a healthy metabolism
- promoting deeper sleep
- promoting healthier brain function
I LOVE (and use every day) Perfect Supplements Grass-Fed Collagen Hydrolysate. It comes from 100% grass-fed Brazilian cows that are never fed GMO grains or injected with rBGH! Get yours here and use my coupon code ALLTHETHINGS to save 10% on your order!
#2 — Maca
Maca is an adaptogenic Peruvian root. It contains no hormones, but contains all the necessary nutrients to support hormone balance — for men and women!
Maca is also amazing for naturally boosting energy without caffeine, enhancing vitality, and supporting fertility and libido!
#3 — Perfect Plant Protein
I have high protein needs, so I relied on a quality, grass-fed whey protein to help meet those needs. Until I couldn’t have dairy anymore…
But my protein needs never changed. So, I recently found Perfect Plant Protein — and I’m loving it!
It’s a blend of hemp, mushroom (like reishi, cordyceps, and shiitake), and brown rice protein that’s enhanced with probiotics and enzymes! Furthermore, one scoop of Perfect Plant Protein contains 26 grams of complete protein — more than 2 scoops of Naked Whey!
Perfect Plant Protein contains these enzymes:
- protease
- amylase
- bromelain
- cellulase
- lactase
- lipase
And these gut-healthy probiotics:
- L. acidophilus
- L. casei
- B. longum
- L. rhamnosus
It’s dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, low-carb, vegetarian/vegan, non-GMO, and certified organic. If you tolerate dairy and want to use a high quality whey protein powder in this shake, I recommend Naked Whey.

#4 — MCT Oil
For a dose of healthy, brain- and metabolism-boosting fats, there’s nothing better to add to a shake than MCT Oil!
MCT Oil is pure medium-chain triglycerides and goes straight to your liver for a quick surge of energy and heat — proof that it’s ramping up your metabolism. We use 100% pure MCT oil from Perfect Supplements. Save 10% on MCT Oil with my coupon code ALLTHETHINGS!

This sounds amazing!!! WANT!!! I didn’t know about their plant protein, I’m going to have to try that and I need to get some MCT oil too. This flavor … YUM!
Yes! The plant protein has been awesome for me!
Soaked and dehydrated?
Yes, all nuts have phytates — compounds that prevent mineral absorption. In order to reduce phytates, we soak nuts in a salt water solution, then dehydrate them to crispy again. You should also do this with grains, seeds, and legumes. I know how to do this, but I prefer to have the work done for me by buying nuts already pre-soaked/dehydrated. Hope that helps!
How beautifully thick and creamy does this smoothie look! YUM. I love that you’ve included maca, it’s one of my favourite supportive supplements and it has such a great flavour.
Love your choice of ingredients and all the health promoting add-ins! I have never made a pecan shake before, now I am so intrigued. Thanks for the creative recipe!
This sounds absolutely delicious!
I love Perfect Supplements’ collagen, and it has helped so much in helping my hair grow! I usually put it in my coffee, but this recipe is inspiring me to get more creative with it.
Oh my goodness, when I started using PS collagen and gelatin everyday, my hair and nails went nuts!
oh MY! Ok so I’ve been doing smoothies as one of my meals each day since school started as I’m babysitting this little toddler that has me busier than my usual! It’s kinda crazy! But this – THIS would totally make my day to enjoy as that mid day meal!
Yay! It really is SO good… probably better hide it from that toddler! LOL 😉
Umm you had me at ‘salted caramel’! Also love that you added maca!
