And that’s what this healthy mixed berry crumble recipe is all about.
Relying heavily on in-season berries means that you don’t have to add a ton of other ingredients (like excess sugar) to make this crumble taste incredible. In fact, this entire recipe uses simple, wholesome ingredients with just the right amount of sweetness to create a summer dessert that embodies the vibrancy of the season.
And just to add even more goodness to this tasty treat, a dose of Collagen Peptides has been added to the berry mixture.
Health Benefits
Berries are a well-known superfood, packed with antioxidants. They also tend to be incredibly nutrient-dense, lower in carbs, and high in fiber.
Almond flour and oat flour are a much more nutritious option than standard refined flour for the crumble base, providing a good source of fiber, healthy fats, and whole grains.
The addition of Collagen Peptides in the berry filling takes this healthy mixed berry crumble recipe to whole new heights. Collagen Peptides support healthier joints, so you can stay active. They also help heal and repair intestinal lining, improving digestion and immunity. Plus, they promote radiant skin and stronger hair and nails, reducing the visible signs of aging. *
Recipe Notes/Substitutions
- Just about any berry will work in this recipe, so feel free to swap in your favorites. Stone fruit also makes great crumble filling, so if peaches are calling your name this season go ahead and give them a try, too!
- Pecans are a classic dessert nut but walnuts are a good substitute if you don’t have or like pecans.
- Want to make this dairy-free? Swap in coconut oil for the butter. Unrefined coconut oil will give it a bit of a coconut flavor but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
- Instead of serving the crumble with whipped coconut cream, try a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream for a warm-weather spin.
