Nourishing White Hot Chocolate

Raw cacao butter combined with my sugar alternative makes a decadent and frothy white hot chocolate that tastes like it came from a high-end coffee shop. Made with raw milk and with the addition of my favorite collagen powder, it's extra nourishing!

Instructions

  1. Combine milk and cacao butter in a saucepan and warm gently to melt the cacao butter. I use a thermometer for this and bring the milk/cacao butter to about 140° Fahrenheit.
  2. While the milk/cacao butter are warming, add to a high-speed blender: vanilla, collagen, sweetener, and salt.
  3. Once the cacao butter is melted and the milk is the perfect temperature for drinking, pour the milk/cacao into the blender.
  4. Cover and blend on low-medium speed for 1 minute.
  5. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy, preferably in front of a crackling fire with someone you love.

Recipe Notes

If coconut milk or homemade cashew milk are used in this recipe, it becomes dairy-free and a wonderful Trim Healthy Mama S (Satisfying) dessert or mid-day snack.

There is no substitute for raw cacao butter in this recipe. Nothing else provides the flavor element. And without the added fat, the drink wouldn't be frothy at all.

This drink begins to thicken as it cools, so I recommend drinking it right away, while it's still hot. The cacao butter solidifies at room temperature, so a cooled drink will be more like pudding than beverage.
